Classes In Chicago

Students will begin to learn the foundations of the ballet technique including proper posture, upper and lower body positions, and locomotor steps, while continuing to use props and playing fun games. Students will build on ballet fundamentals with a focus on jazz-specific skills such as isolations, flexibility, and floor combinations. Music has been proven to enhance mood, cognitive skills, confidence, reduce stress, foster problem solving skills, increase motivation, and aid in emotional development. The foundations of which are skills that children as young as 3 can start to explore and enjoy. “Let’s Get Funky” is a class designed to teach children the basics of music; from counting & signing, to music history to rhythm, and even performing in a group! The class is recommended for children ages 3-4 or 4 – 6, taught by professional musicians with training in early childhood development.

Tiny Dancer is a creative movement class that encourages self-discipline and self-confidence while incorporating coordination, large motor skills and rhythm. Children will learn movement skills through music, stories and imaginative games. Props such as bean-bags, hula-hoops, and parachutes will be used to explore different movement qualities, shapes, levels and dynamics.

Bring your little one, ages 18 months to 2 years old on Saturday mornings for this special movement class, taught by M.K. Victorson. All little ones love to move and this is a special way to connect with your toddler. Class meets on Saturdays from 11 – 11:45am for 4 weeks.
